On December 2nd, a group of year 5 and year 6 Digital Leaders were given the opportunity to complete a second session at the Digital Schoolhouse.
This special visit formed part of the 12th Annual INTEL
International Education Summit. The focus of this part of the summit was the use of IT in education.
The children had already completed a previous session with the Digital Schoolhouse (at Woodford County High for Girls) learning all about inputs and outputs, logic gates and a little introduction to C coding using Arduino boards.
For the second session the children took part in an exciting lesson using
INTEL technology (the Galileo board) to create a working robot.
They used what they had previously learned about inputs, outputs, sensors and motors and had a
play around with the new INTEL Galileo board.
In attendance were IT and education delegates from Italy, Thailand, Jordan and many other countries from around the world.
The children worked
incredibly well and represented not just John Bramston but Redbridge, London and even
the U.K. to our international audience.
A great day of learning and fun was had by all. A very big thank you to the Digital Schoolhouse for giving us such a fantastic experience.
Mr. Cusack.
